Dearestest guys and girls of Australia,
As you will all probably know, 2005 is a very significant year for all Vietnamese people around the globe because it has been 30 years since Communist tanks charged through the gates of the Presidential Palace in Saigon in 1975 after the Vietnam War ended. “Ended”. But I won’t go into detail because I assume you all know this.
The Commonwealth Government has given us money to put on a show to commemorate these 30 remarkable years.
And when we say commemorate, we mean nothing is sacred. This show will deal with many of the issues that confront us today, anything from boats, to samurai swords, stingy Vietnamese mothers to the elusive character which we tenderly dub the “fob”.
It will be honest and it will be good. Guaranteed “oh, I can so relate to that” reaction from all Vietnamese, even all non-Vietnamese, or money back not guaranteed. Please come support us, whether you are Vietnamese or not -this is a show for everyone.
Thank you Australia, thank you mum, and thank you all in advance.
